The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) has awarded a $5,775 grant to the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County.

In 2016, 24 percent of adults in the county were uninsured, and this grant will help provide dental supplies for these individuals.

The Community Care Clinic offers the only free dental care for adults in Rowan County, where access to quality medical and dental care is ranked among the community’s most critical needs. The clinic, which has partnered with DDF for the past five years, provides dental examinations, x-rays, extractions, fillings and deep cleanings for enrolled patients.

“We are so excited to continue our partnership with the Delta Dental Foundation,” said Krista Woolly, executive director of the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County. “Access to quality dental care and supplies is severely limited in Rowan County, and DDF’s generous contribution will allow us to reach more uninsured individuals in our community.”

The Delta Dental Foundation focuses on ensuring that children and adults in North Carolina receive premier oral health education and high-quality dental care. The grant awarded to the Community Care Clinic is one of over 90 grants totaling over $325,000 given to North Carolina oral health organizations and programs since 2011 .

“The Delta Dental Foundation is proud to have partnered with the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County for the past five years,” said Curt Ladig, president and CEO of Delta Dental of North Carolina. “By providing support to the Community Care Clinic for the important work that it does, we can help change the direction of a person’s health and quality of life, overall.”

Delta Dental of North Carolina is a nonprofit dental service corporation created in 1970 to provide dental benefits throughout the state. Its mission is to improve the oral health of the communities it serves. It does so by providing affordable access to oral health care with the largest network of providers, including two out of every three dentists, in North Carolina.

The Community Care Clinic of Rowan County offers primary medical and dental care, as well as pharmacy services, for enrolled patients who would otherwise be unable to afford insurance.
